uh, well you could have a problem with your: parachute, fins, water to air ratio, nose cone, or general weight

okay. my fins are sligtly angled and all the same. the parachute worked...sorta...it dint go high to tell for sure. what is the best water to air ratio?
sorry for all the questions...i'm really stressed out right now.

the best water to air ratio is for you to find out, just find intervals and put 100 mLs of water in then launch and record a time then put 200mLs of water in and launch, just do it like this and see where the time peaks. If you want maximum time, not completely worth it cause outside factors can corrupt his, you can take the peak and in 10 mL intervals go out 50 mLs to both sides of the peak to find an "optimum." This might not be a big deal because of the aforementioned outside factors such as wind skewing the results, your really aiming for a ballpark number. But every little thing helps to if you have the time I would go for it.

I'd say try to work on the right balance of mass in your nose cone (that's what I'm going to mainly mess with on my rocket before regionals). Have enough so that the rocket has good stability and the nose cone comes out reliably, but try to avoid adding excess weight that's just sacrificing height for not much gain. I'd say that and the amount of water are the easiest to modify pretty quickly.

okay. what i think went wrong was the weight of my nose cone. thanks for both suggestions. :D

i don't know, it would probably be different for every region

I think we've estimated before that you needed a 15 second flight and the egg to survive to have a solid chance at medaling
