I got 1st place overall (we are a JV team but beat all the varsity teams). I was happy that we won, but our time was still bad. If your rocket worked, you would place at my competition.

For me the parachute diameter depends on the type of rocket design. For example, big rocket=very high=small parachute , small rocket=average height=big parachute

You want to make it as big as you can. I used the biggest trash bag I could find.

Mine is 3 feet in diameter; but it didn't open on the actual contest. The egg survived, 19 pts with bonus, and we ended up with 13th at our regionals.

Anyone have clues on how to fix this not opening issue before states?
