So wouldn't a smaller sorter be advantageous? Lets say your height was 1 then your score would be........wait a second let me reread the rules....... If I'm wrong.....I just wasted 1 and a half hours trying to drop our machine's height.

no becauz its H-100 so... 99-100=-1, 45-100=-55, if its high scores height is

dont u define the slot yourself... our is made to split off certain ones high or low on ramp... with set coin value in each of 4 containers....

Can it really be anything?? and does it have to be directly use in the sorting??? if its a part that we are actually using can we just replace it.?

Think about it this way, you need to dump the coins into a container so your device can sort them. I would say the 'coin opening' is the part where the container you dump your coins into opens up to dump them into the device.

Hey

How did you guys differentiate between the pennies and dimes? My partner and I have no trouble with nickels or quarters, but we can't seem to get the dimes and pennies down.

Also, what exactly is defined as a "hopper"? Could it theoretically just be a long hollow pole where you manually insert each coin in the orientation that's favorable?

So had my states today. Our water displacement scale... had no water so I had to make a really bad spring (rubber band) scale that was really tall and it tipped over twice.. we got 1 point (participation point :-/, 11 = 1st, 10 = 2nd, etc.) My coin sorter was awesome, but they didn't do it, they did the scale (which my partner was supposed to be working on)... :(

We had some difficulty defining the coin opening as well. The judge wasn't cooperating.
"Where, exactly, is the coin opening?"
"Wherever you dump the coins in."
"So the top of the hopper, or the bottom?"
"Wherever you dump the coins in."

Sigh.

How well did your water displacement scale work before? I saw one at states, and it didn't look that good, as well as really messy.

the ppl who already went to state what did you guys get as ur mystery object....to add the mystery object to the coin sorter seems harder than adding it to the scale :?

anyways...is it necessary to put all the coins at the same time (it surely is gonna speed things up!)

thanks for nay responses!!!

btw: any guesses what they are going to give us for state in Texas?!?!
