Very nice! My coach built a bridge similar to yours only not as tall. What were the efficiency ranges for those?

Well then, regardless of masses, were these bridges holding a substantial load? Or were they simply breaking after 8-9kg?

Most bridges were holding around 3-4 kg. It would've been really impressive if they could hold up to 8 kg.

That's really low...unless the bridges were very light. Can you estimate how heavy the bridges were?

Don't use the results at that clinic as too much of an indicator for what's possible. The purpose of the clinic is to test the rules and give the coaches some hints and tips how to get their students started.

There is nothing special about the bridges, and you shouldn't expect them to represent competitive bridges you'll see around the country.

In fact, if the event was run by who I think it was run, his approach is to start with quick and dirty bridges, NOT competitive bridges.

Absolutely correct. Emphasis was HOW TO GO ABOUT researching, building, examples, procedures for competition, etc. I'm not sure exactly how many hours were available for pure building, but it wasn't enough for multiple bridges-- some had a hard time just getting ONE done.

Plus, draft rules were used. Maybe they're the real rules, maybe not.

As a result, we had several working (nonworking) examples of bridges too wide, too narrow, too short, too long, not high enough, wouldn't sit square on the testing jig, etc.

PS: Spalding did better than Spalding admits to doing.

Are those division B or C bridges? They appear to be div C ones but i'm not that great at determining length.
