I didn't know that people were talking about maglev, and when I saw that I was seriously confused. Goggles not mandated, but hockey gear? Sure!plaid suit guy2 wrote:The funniest thing was the team with the hockey gear to protect themselves.

Re: Scrambler C
Kinda irrelevant, but I had a few problems with my drive string this year. My car had an angled stick on the back of it, and a loop of string pulled the car forward. Often, though, the car was pulled upward as it exited the launcher, as if the loop of string failed to come off of the angled hook. Can anyone suggest better release mechanisms/point me to a few pictures?

Re: Scrambler C
I had a system of pulleys so the string pulled the car straight out of the launcher and a nail in the back since I didn't need any kind of hook.

Re: Scrambler C
With regards to a drive string, as long as you could position your egg transport vehicle so that the string remained taut, you really didn't need a hook. I had a rod as my body, and all I did was just make a notch at the back end of the rod to place a loop made from the string. If you need a pic, ask.

Re: Scrambler C
If you keep your string taut, it acts like a spring and moves the vehicle out of place so that the string is no longer taut. To avoid this, do you just put a trip wire in front of your vehicle or something?

Re: Scrambler C
I had a piece of paper in front of the dowel that would just barley hold it and let the vehicle push past when released.

Never had a need to put anything in front of my vehicle to keep it in place. I'll just upload a pic when I get a chancetanuagg13 wrote:If you keep your string taut, it acts like a spring and moves the vehicle out of place so that the string is no longer taut. That's something I may use. I had a few problems with that in practice.iwonder wrote:I had a piece of paper in front of the dowel that would just barley hold it and let the vehicle push past when released.
