Maybe, but maybe not. Every competition is different. Some competitions use one quadrangle, some use two, and maybe some even use three. At my PA states, two years ago it used a PA highway map, and last year it used a VA and a WV. Really, all you can expect is that you will see quadrangles, highway maps, and a map drawing section.

ok, but if you reason it out, wouldnt it be just slightly different from one side of the map to the other?
it doesnt just magically change with the quad you are on, it gradually changes... right?

i wuz looking at a rd scholar study guide, and it said: What is the primary method of computing distances along:
State Highways? -distances between junctions & towns (black numbers)
U.S. (Federal) Highways? -red pointers
Interstate Highways? -subtract exit numbers
(-=answers)
So, how do you calculate all these?

You have the answers on there. You will see black numbers telling you the mileage of a certain point. Add them all up for total mileage. They are red on Federal highways. Subtracting exit signs, ex: Exit 300-Exit 200 is 100 miles.
