What should I be studying for?

Post by zoproeg » March 22nd, 2009, 4:59 pm

My team is heading off to MI state competition in may, and I really want to do well in Anatomy. Does anyone have experience w/ this event at states, and if so, what should I be studying?

thoracic vertebrae have very obvious wings- as the ribs need to articulate into the vertebrae. the sacrum is 5 FUSED vertebrae. im not sure about cervical and lumbar.
Well... cervical are smaller, I guess...

Lumbar are thick and the biggest, thoracic have the rib facets, and cervical are like tiny little interlocking pieces.

Well I'm from NY, and did the event last year at the state competition. Definitely know the "National Only" information, as there is a definite chance that the event writer will pull that out. Other than that just know your stuff, states will be more in-depth. In the case of last year, I did anatomy at all 3 levels of competition (regionals, states and nats) and states was the hardest event, with nationals being not THAT difficult. SO definitely know as muhc as you can, seeing as itwill be harder than regionals
