Re: Remote Sensing
The statistics were definitly killing me. I know that there were more math questions, and I'll post them when I figure out what they were. Thanks!

Re: Remote Sensing
Hey guys
So I just won first at the Indiana State Competition in Remote Sensing and I thought I'd let you know that almost all of our images were from the USGS website so I'd check those out.
Also we had a ton of averages and standard deviations to figure out at the end of our test.
Overall it wasn't too bad, but I'd strongly suggest looking at those USGS images. The proctor of our test said those and the ones on the tutorial are really the only ones that they can use for free.
Good Luck!

Re: Remote Sensing
Dido to swimmergurl. I got 3rd at State with that test. Overall, it was the best test I've taken because it had a lot of variety. If I were you, just google "remote sensing quiz" and you get some pretty good stuff that was covered on our test.

Re: Remote Sensing
We didn't have Remote Sensing at Nebraska's state competition (I will be doing it at Nationals, though) but I did do it at this one invitational in Kansas City. On one short answer question, I pretty much made up an entire paragraph of filler around the little bit I did know about the question. When I got the test back, there was a comment next to my crap-paragraph that said 'great job'. It was hilarious!

Re: Remote Sensing
How similar is Remote Sensing to Road Scholar? I'm entering Div. C next year and I've heard this is sort of Road Scholar's high school equivalent. I read the rules, but I didn't really get a clear picture of what the event would be like.

Re: Remote Sensing
its not similar at all, its more about the actual imaging and how they do it than it is about finding your place on a map

Re: Remote Sensing
Well, last year's nat's test was actually a lot of finding yourself on a map, and not so much on the images themselves. I'd say it depends on who writes your test and their background.

Re: Remote Sensing
That's the hard part of this event, you never know if they will ask about interpreting the images, satellites themselves, or finding stuff on the images. Luckily, I'm interested in all three.
