As long as it was rotating, the device was considered good. If it ran out while up, they stopped the time, but as long as it dislodged while still rotating, the device was considered good. Super frustrating.
I am not sure how it will work this year in regards to the rules. The Invitationals have all been handled differently, although it has been nowhere near the issue that it is at States. The best thing to do is move the event and avoid the game of chance that is played with that event. In a state like Ohio, every point matters and having a wild card out there can really impact placement results. Oh well! Time will tell and everyone will deal with it if there is no change of venue. At least we are all in the same boat.
