Frankly, I'd love to see like a ranking poll conducted. Would anyone be interested?

Something along those line usually occurs after every State Competition is completed.

I'm tossing my half a cent into the ring saying Centerville beats out Solon. :D

Disclaimer: This speculation based on 0% actual data. Good luck to anyone reading this!

1. Seven Lakes
2. Troy (CA)
3. Salon
4. Mentor
5. New Trier
6. Stevenson
7. Grand Haven
8. F-M
9. Mounds View
10. Harriton

My main reasoning for Seven Lakes winning is "The South shall RISE AGAIN!!!!!!!". I'd like to rank Solon over Troy, but I'm not really sure how well they'll perform mechanically, considering what were top 3 placings at states last year turned into huge bombs at nationals. I'm also gonna put in my half cent that Mentor will knock-out Centerville in the state competition. They definitely have the potential.

Glad to see both Illinois teams up there! :D Most of my predictions are based purely off of speculation and spontaneity. The reason for my Centerville comment was because of WSU. I seem to remember them taking first. Am I (unfortunately) wrong here?

My guess:

Tier 1:
Solon- A perennial favorite, despite the loss of their coach, they continue to do extremely well at invitationals.
Troy- Strong performance at states, though a few problem events makes them slight underdogs to Solon

Tier 2:
Centerville- my big question mark. I've heard they are strong this year, and if next week they either come close to, or beat, Solon, I would add them to Tier 1
Seven Lakes- While Invitationals does not correspond terribly well to ultimate placement at nationals, WSU might be the best predictor, and Seven Lakes's strong 5th place at nationals last year leads me to think they are a force to be reckoned with.

Tier 3: (where anything can happen)
New Trier- strong at their state competition, seem to have somewhat overcome their slump from last year. Perennial strong team.
Stevenson- while they seem to have faded a bit from last year, the influx of Daniel Wright alumni should help them out.
Mounds View- Strong showing last year, seems to be doing comparable this year.
Harriton- definitely will not get second like last year, but still a probable top 10 team.
<Insert other Pennsylvania team>- Not sure who gets on the ticket with Harriton (if even Harriton gets on), but whoever it is will probably be in this tier
Fayetteville- Considering the WM fiasco, the fact that they did not absolutely crush the remainder of their competition should be worrisome to them.

Overall, I would give Solon a 40% chance to win, Troy a 30% chance to win, Centerville a 20% chance to win, and everyone else combined 10%.

It seems like the trend on here is using last year's top ten with the addition of one team in place of Ward Melville. As a relatively new member (first year in Scioly), I'm just wondering is this how things tend to play out? With practically the same top 10 (just jumbled around a bit)?

I've noticed that the predictions that look the best to me are the ones that look the most like the previous year's actual results, and I'd assume that most other people are the same way.

It's really difficult to gauge how each team will do, especially given the fact that the only time teams from out of state compete against each other is at invitationals, and those are so early in the season.

Compare them, and you'll see that things only really change majorly after about a decade.

so the iolani results have been released, with seve lakes, solon, troy, centerville, harriton, etc. competing... that should be a good indicator?

I can't speak for all the teams, but ours had a lot of people unable to take the tests conventionally and they had to take them on the bus ride to state/over our spring break, so it was difficult. But hey, you never know, they could be very good indicators... :?

Have they all been released? I only know of a few events that have been scored and ranked
