Wait, couldn't a pathogen be radiation? It causes disease.

Nope. radiation is an agent of disease, but not a pathogen. A pathogen has to be biotic (Not necessarily alive, like viruses and prions). Also, you don't become "infected" by radiation.

Define the term "host" and name the four classifications of hosts.
I'll try classifications.
1. Susceptible: has not been infected but could be under natural circumstances
2. Latent: Infected but not clinically diseased
3. Recovered: Was infected in the past. Clinical symptoms disappeared
4. Affected. Currently ill

Just joining the marathon! Here's a question:

Name three diseases related to environmental quality and briefly describe how they are related.

Yes, those aren't types of hosts but they would answer his original question where they are ways of classifying hosts.

Just joining the marathon! Here's a question:

Name three diseases related to environmental quality and briefly describe how they are related.
1: Minamata disease. Caused by Methyl Murcury. Related to poor water quality

2: Cancer. Can be caused by radiation, which can be found in certain workplaces or geographic regions

3: Cholera. Although a communicable disease, outbreaks are related to overcrowding and poor water quality

Both good answers! Your turn to ask questions!
