It is located in Alaska, and it is important because that is the go-to surging glacier glaciologists follow.

Obliquity: The earth wobbles on its axis. Varies on a 41,000 year cycle. Precession: The earth's orbit rotates compared to fixed stars. Varies on a 24,000-26,000 year cycle. Eccentricity: The earth orbits in an ellipse, not a circle, and is affected by gravity from other planets/stars/other large object thingies. Varies on a 100,000 year cycle.
