So basically for potable water treatment. It just has extra steps, which is coagulation and flocculation right?
xD this makes it so much easier to understand
I always had a hard time trying to differentiate between those two.

Sort of... :)
In Potable Water Treatment, the steps (in order) are Chemical Addition, Coagulation/Flocculation, Sedimentation, Filtration, Disinfection and Distribution. I'm sure you already knew that, so I hope I wasn't insulting your intelligence. I was just clarifying for everybody else 8-)

Eh, I'll ask the next question:
What is the difference between meiofauna and infauna?

I know that infauna live within the sediment on the bottom of a body of water and that epifauna live on the surface of the sediment, so really the question here (in my opinion) would be to ask what the difference between the two is. However, you are certainly entitles to ask questions in whatever manner you please. A Meiofauna is an organism that ranges in size from about 1 mm to 45 um (it depends), situated between micro- and macro-fauna in the size order of organisms.

Eh, sloppy, but I'll clean up your answer a little bit:
Infauna generally modify the sediment in some way, by either burrowing or tunneling, or just covering itself with sediment. Meiofauna do not- they leave between sand grains. It is true that infuana (such as clams, certain crabs, large worms) are larger than meiofauna (very small worms such as polychaetes; hydras and protists) that in itself is not the main difference.

Well, that's a different answer from the information on the water quality CD that the coaches were given. I suppose I trust your judgment more, but event supervisors would probably be less likely to give you that answer because of the difference in your information from the information formatted by the Water Quality people at the beginning of the year. But your answer is probably more correct, as many things from the Water Quality CD have been wrong. It's so sad that so much differing information on one subject exists out there that can confuse people.

Just got out my marine biology book. Here's what the glossary says:

"Meiofauna- Microscopic fauna hat live on the bottom, often used as a synonym for interstitial fauna."

"Infauna- The animals that burrow into the substrate"

Either way, you go next.

I certainly trust a marine biology book better than materials we were given! Thank you for the information and the clarification! I'll ask one, I guess, even though I didn't get it right.
What is the difference between an anadromous and a catadromous fish?

Anadromous fish spend most of their lives in oceans, swim upstream to spawn, such as salmon. Catadromous fish spend most of their time in rivers, swim to oceans to spawn, such as American Eels.

Indeed! No need to look it up in my biology book :P ! Your turn again!
