If you study hard enough, you should be able to get on an even footing with most other people. It's just a bunch of memorization.

They rotate the topics every two years, maybe.

But they should rotate it every year so the people who already did the event. So therefore you would have to learn whole new aspects of Disease Detectives

It does make more sense to rotate the topuc out every year instead of wevery 2 yeears

Do you realize that most events are on 2 year rotations so your statement would apply to all of those? 2 is good because for most events changing every year is too much and 3 is too long for most. There are exceptions but this is good for most.

No, this event is on a different rotation. This is something like the fourth straight here where it's population growth. I think. If not 4, than 3.
2011 Regional, States, National Events
Disease Detectives- N/A, 3rd, 9th
Anatomy- 1st, 2nd, 20th
Microbe Mission- 2nd, 3rd, 4th
WIDI- 1st, 2nd, 38th
Fossils- 2nd, N/A, N/A
Compute This- 4th, 4th, N/A
Team- 1st, 1st, 11th

Medal Count: 32

I seem to remember that 2 years ago it was different, but I'm not really sure. I seem to remember a topic having to do with environmental factors for some reason.

I'm sorry, but exactly how many different aspects are there to epidemiology? There's plenty to study, but it all falls under a pretty general heading.
