Just so you know, Environmental Chem, as a trial last year, was also very vague. It's just a matter of studying everything all of chemistry and all of environmental.

I'm new at this, so I need some insight. What aspects of chemistry and ecology should I be focusing on?

How do you test for nitrates/phosphates? I bought a soil test kit for NPK, so I understand that. Is it the same?
