-Nothing\'s gonna get deleted. We\'re gonna be like three little Fonzies here. And what\'s Fonzie like? Come on, what\'s Fonzie like?
-Cool?
-Correctamundo. And that\'s what we\'re gonna be. We\'re gonna be cool. Now, I\'m gonna count to three, and when I count three, you let go of your mouse, and back away from the keyboard. But when you do it, you do it cool. Ready? One... two... three.

Re: Crave the Wave B
Hi everyone!
Does anyone know what kind of questions will they give us in the lab portion of the Crave the Wave test?
This topic hasn't been in for like six years right?
Thanks

Re: Crave the Wave B
Can anyone answer the following question?
If a tuning fork is placed over a 20 cm pipe, what will be the wavelength that exits the pipe?
Thanks.

20 cm long or wide? What caused the original vibration?Magikarpmaster629 wrote:Can anyone answer the following question?

Re: Crave the Wave B
First the answer depends on whether the pipe is open on one or both ends. If the pipe is open on both ends, then the fundamental wavelength of the pipe is λ=2*l=2*20cm=40cm (where λ is the fundamental wavelength and "l" the length of the pipe). However, if it is closed on one end, then λ=4*l=4*20cm=80cm.Magikarpmaster629 wrote:Can anyone answer the following question?

There is in fact a second factor on whether the pipe will produce this tune. The tuning fork must also produce the same wavelength (or a harmonic, but that appears to me outside the scope of the rules) for the pipe to resonate with the fork.

1) Calm down. It helps.slytherin wrote:Guys I need HELP!!!! This event is the one that could make me a part of my SciO team and I SUCK at it! Please help me and maybe post a website that could help or ideas for what I should do. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!
2) Read the rules end to end and know them.
3) Google search everything on the rules. Be able to use all the formulas and whatnot. Put anything you can into your binder (This is a binder event, right?)
4) Make sure your binder is organized. It's no use if you can't find things. Tabs or page numbers are helpful.
5) Take some practice tests. There are a few old ones on the Test Exchange, and the first and last ones both look good to me, although you should probably judge that for yourself (unfortunately the Northmont link is broken; that one would likely have been good)
