Re: Pennsylvania 2009
yup. not a lot of people participate in the c team, so our b team is WAY more serious. so im going to enjoy next season as much as i can....can't wait!!!EASTstroudsburg13 wrote:Opposite occurs here. I think it's because there's so many more stuff that have more success than SO and a lot of people don't want to (or can't) put in the time required to succeed. But with JTL doing well, I'm hoping that carries over to the high school and we can reach states.

Re: Pennsylvania 2009
This past year we did. I think what happens is that 8th graders come over as freshmen but after that some decide not to come back or aren't dedicated anymore. Plus the classes ahead of us weren't the best ones in JTL, so that may be a factor too.gyourkoshaven wrote:Do you guys have most of your people come over to the HS?

Re: Pennsylvania 2009
Our problem is that most of the underclassmen that join just do so for one year ("Hey, this sounds like fun... perhaps not... Now, I'll quit!). We had a 7th grader retention rate of about... 25%?

Re: Pennsylvania 2009
That's weird, because SO is addictive to everyone. Almost everybody comes back year-to-year, except if there are spacing constraints.

Re: Pennsylvania 2009
That's happening in JTL now that it's a competitive team. However, the high school team is the opposite (we're not competitive at all) so there's no drive to "live up to" previous teams. They don't feel like they have to do any work because no one cares if they do badly. For a history of the team just for reference look at the East Stroudsburg High School South Wiki.

I don't know if this is actually going to happen, but I think that states will be on April 30 next year. I think it's always the last Friday in April, or in this year's case, the first Friday in May.

Re: Pennsylvania 2009
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like you are trying to get more people to view our Wiki...EASTstroudsburg13 wrote:That's happening in JTL now that it's a competitive team. But, back on topic, it could also be because we have only 2 HS coaches who often seem overwhelmed by all the different needs for the events while JTL has a few who work together to get things done.
Yep, here's more words.

Re: Pennsylvania 2009
So? Our JTL head coach still does some of the work. At the high school we're pretty much on our own for study events. And in regard to the wiki, I don't want to recreate it on one of these posts so I just put the link.
