And junkyard was completely screwy. Apparently, the supervisors took "impound" to mean "do full construction". Most of the teams had no idea that they were going to be building on Friday, and many came late, since they thought it was just impound between 5:00 - 5:45, not build everything. Plus I think they randomly made up some specs so some got DQed. But Im not sure about that one.
And thanks Daman =).
And gh was there and I missed him? =(

Did you guys notice for Picture This, Harold Miller was reading out different teams than the slide show? and then he just went on to remote sensing without saying anything to the audience. I hope everyone got what they deserved.

Also did anyone find any discrepency between the score sheet they handed out at competition and the scores online?

Congratulations to everyone and i hope you guys had a great time.

ooh, there's a slide show for your region? That's pretty cool, although it must be a lot of work putting that together before the awards ceremony.

Well second place (at regional) was a good wakeup call. Building events were still weak though. The top three teams from last year all didn't do as well this year; I mean even Fayetteville gained nearly 40 points this year although still really good and above everyone else.

Going in our expectations were low. Halfway through the event awards I realized that ward melville was getting a good amount of medals but I still knew we probably had really bad scores in some events so I wasn't sure. Even when third place was announced, a teammate and I were thinking WM possibly 11th?
Well, I was talking to some of the WM sophomores on Friday, and their prediction was that Melville wouldn't even be near the top ten (which I was inclined to agree with them on, given that the final 15 people wasn't decided until, what, Thursday?)- so if I'd been there, I definitely would have been thinking 11th or lower...

Harold Miller read off the scores? I don't know about C Division but I know last year he didn't. I guess he is this year.

Haha yep, we decided the last alternate on Thursday. We were pretty surprised to get 2nd, especially after doing the events.
And spackenkill really surprised us too, they didnt do so hot.
And by the way, Harold Miller read the scores last year too. He always does it.
