Again- it was a joke. It doesn't have to reflect reality accurately.

I've never seen 300 either. However, the "THIS IS SPARTA!" quote from it that Flavorflav based his comment on is widely known.

I would like to stress- nobody was trying to insult FM. They were merely riffing on FM's utter dominance.

i know the quote i just didn't get the connection--i get your point about it being a joke, and if I were you I would joke abot it too--we sometime joke about the kids on Eagle Hill's team being robots--i just get annoyed sometimes and don't really think about stuff--i think you know that by now though

Sorry guys, as others have stated, it was supposed to be a joke/movie reference. Great movie though, I've watched it like 20 times (every time I feel the need to workout after)

Oh, and just a random comment about people taking things personally.

Nobody on this board (at least not me) ever posts things, or shouldn't ever post things, to put a specific school down, you know what I mean. Firstly, it is just wrong and I feel like the people in Science Olympiad are better than that, but also a lot of the teams on these boards are fantastic and have no reason to put other schools down for they too achieve a lot. To me, just being in Science Olympiad puts everybody on this board ahead of 99.9% of the world population. Fact.

Agreed. SciO is life to those who understand it, and underrated by those who don't.

Agreed again
another random thing here--if I seem annoyed i'm often not as annoyed as I act i'm just not good at being subtle about it
I joke about teams too especially about Eagle Hill our rival middle school-its all in good fun I just don't think about things very much I just glance at them

Whose coach Leonidas?
Leonidas was the king of Sparta who led the Greeks at Thermopylae, and (in the film) kicked the Persian ambassador into a bottomless pit while uttering the line I paraphrased.

Honestly, I have nothing but respect for you guys. I'm sure that jealousy lay under some of the early comments on this thread, but I think most of us were just riffing on all of the rumors about how you get to be so dominant. All in fun, for my part at least.

I don't know how we got to be so dominant--I should find that out
