Motor

Post by _englb »

Does anyone know of a way to get more power out of a rubber motor? We currently can't get enough thrust to generate any lift.

_englb,
I would be glad to try to help you if a more information about your airplane and flights can be supplied. If you can supple all of this, you will probably get very good assistance: weight of airplane, wing span and chord, propeller type (diameter, blade area, pitch), thickness and length of current rubber motor, number of turns you are putting in the motor (and backoff turns and maximum torque and launch torque would be good to know), flight behavior (is it flying level, climbing slightly, flying well but not getting the desired duration, etc.), wing incidence, stabilizer incidence, center of gravity, part weights (weight of wing, fuselage, propeller, stabilizer, fuselage and tailboom),
If any of this terminology is not familiar to you, read the general narrative for Wright Stuff at the head of this wiki.

Meant to state, "... if you can supply...". Also, supply the stabilizer span and chord.
