Flights at Nationals

Post by bernard »

A lot of us won't be at Nationals, so if those of you going and flying at the 60'+ site could record your flight, I would really like to see it!

In the meantime, what do you think the winning time will be, or even a placing flight for that matter?

Not sure what the winning time will be, but I am going to assume we will see ~5 minutes.

I was watching in the morning and there were official flights of 4:54, 4:38, and 4:10. I didn't see any flights that were 5+ though but There definitely could have been 5+ minute flights.

My trim flights were close to 4 minutes, but when we tested, the plane went upward normally but did not turn. We hit the wall, we couldn't fix it and now officially we got about 40 seconds..

My plane drifted into the wall when it was still about 10-12 feet up in the air so I lost a good 10-15 seconds, but it was during the descent so I still got a descent time

First place was the 4:54 flight, and they did not attempt a wing bonus.

Second place was 4:38 and again the wing bonus was not attempted.

Did they not attempt any wing chord bonus, or just the Nationals bonus? I'm still really interested in seeing a video of a flight in that place if anyone has one!

No wing bonus at all was attempted by the first two teams and I have a video of my flight but you can barely see the plane. I'll post it at a more convenient time
