That Experimental Design prompt was probably one of the best-written and definitely the most creative tests I've ever taken for SciOly! How did you guys approach that problem???

We were given a story about how we were trapped in a cavern and needed to escape before a hungry monkey came by setting up an escape route and hiding bananas (I came late and didn't have time to read the whole thing so I may have messed up some details). We were supposed to model this situation with a paper cup (cave), plastic monkey and bananas, pebbles (rocks), popsicle sticks (planks), string (rope) and a few other materials. My team and I were stumped; we ended up doing a qualitative experiment testing the efficiency of setups on arbitrary scales... yeah it didn't go too well for us xD. I'm sure those more prepared were able to come up with interesting ways to address the problem while still doing a quantitative experiment.
