Who is Piedmont? I see them a lot in these predictions but I don't recall their team.

They are one of the top 10 powerhouses at Nationals and I believe they are from North Carolina.
They got 9th last year at Nationals.

Oh really, wow. I think it's been a while since NC has been in the top ten as I recall.

I strongly believe Springhouse Middle school will get 10th over Memorial. They beat them at Solon invitational this year

I can easily see Springhouse getting top 10 after their performance at WSU and States. Their score of 87 was the third best in div B states since 2002, and the two teams that got better scores placed 6th and 11th at nationals respectively. I think Meads Mill will get top 3, and be in a fight with Beckendorff for 2nd place behind Solon.

No way! Didn't Piedmont get like 56 or something and Beckendorff -- 43 and Solon somewhere in the 50s?

Solon got 64. Extremely impressive for a team in Ohio and they're my pick to win now

For what it's worth, Winston Churchill got 40 last year and Beckendorff got 64 (and not only that, but also got second place the Riverwood). In my humble opinion, state results don't directly translate into national results (see: Beckendorff) aside from selecting the people who go to nats, as different states are tougher/easier

Yeah, some teams can get less than 50 at their state but in a competition-less state (my school), but doesn't accurately represent their nationals score.

Generally I just use state scores to compare to previous state scores rather than other teams or other states.

I see 8 teams as locks for top 10 (Solon, Beckendorff, Meads Mill, Winston Churchill, Muscatel, Daniel Wright, Piedmont, and Marie Murphy). The other two spots are up for grabs, and based off of what you guys have done this year, you guys are definitely a top-10 contender.

The issue with this is that states can grow weaker and stronger over time.
