Re: Food Science B
For the butter, how do we get it out of the bottle? Are we allowed to cut it? If so, can we bring scissors to the event?
Thanks!
Thanks!

You cannot bring scissors, so try to find a bottle with a wide enough mouth.sciolyrulz wrote:For the butter, how do we get it out of the bottle? Are we allowed to cut it? If so, can we bring scissors to the event?

It's probably a good idea to have nothing in the binder except for those 9+ sheets, just for no confusion or anything.
Also, if you have more than 9, remember to put your best 3 for each experiment in the front, because only the first 3 for each experiment will be graded.

Re: Food Science B
I am so confused! I have never done food science before, and I was wondering if anyone could give me a quick run-through of what you have to do, how to do it, and what you will need for food science.

Re: Food Science B
For the cheese curds portion of the experiments, our milk isn`t curdling properly after the addition of the vinegar/lemon juice. This is probably due to the fact that the milk is kept at room temperature, but the instructions say that this is the temperature the milk should be at. Has anybody else encountered the same problem?

Re: Food Science B
My friends that are in Food Science said they had that situation too, and only got some to form by using an extreme amount of vinegar.

Re: Food Science B
To my knowledge, you're supposed to wait a few minutes for the curds to form, but even so, the least vinegar we've had to use was about 18 ml. So yes, we've been having that problem too.

Where did you guys find the container for making butter? We searched bed bath and beyond and the container store. I just can't seem to find the bottle. Could anyone let me know where they got theirs? Thanks, the illuminati will forever be in your favor

Re: Food Science B
You can use any water bottle as long as you can screw it closed. No need to buy a $20 one from The Container Store- just grab one out of the recycling bin.dogy2011 wrote:Where did you guys find the container for making butter? Re: Food Science B
Hello, I am also new to Food Science. We have all the food done and our notes sheet, but since we have to take a picture of each of our items, I was wondering if there is any specific way they want the picture. Do they need top view, side view, any specific position? In addition, for the "Results" portion on our test for, are we just supposed to say things like:
"This ice cream took longer to freeze " (obvs. not the real thing)
and in our analysis explain all the points in our results?
Apologies for the long-winded question
Any help is much appreciated!!!
Thank you!!
