It's a joke, I haven't bothered to check who sassy is, though I'm guessing East already knows.
Yes, my comment was a joke too.
That sounds like something the sassy would say...

In all seriousness, I can't figure it out either. It probably isn't whythelongface, because the (not) cipher has 3 letters that repeat (g, v, f) but "whythelongface" has just 1.

Edit: also, I doubt East would just give us the name of the sassy, even in cipher form. If we do solve the cipher, it will probably give us a clue that requires another round (or more) of unscrambling.

If only there was a cipher where repeating letters didn't always mean the same decoded letter... starts with a V or something.[/quote]

Yikes, I spoke to soon. It's vignere(http://rumkin.com/tools/cipher/), for those interested, and I'll try to crack it tomorrow.

Maybe you all should focus more on the kill clues, in case East's just messing with you all. Just saying. ;)

Quite a few vigeneres were used in 113....idk if that says anything tho. For all we know, this is also a good point:

You used the Vigneres, pika!

Also, I was quite sure it is the Vignere, but I've had no luck cracking it both on the substitution and Vig solver.

Edit: If it is Vignere, then it's not "whythelongface". I've tried to brute-force decipher it, and the key required to force the code just doesn't make any sense.

At this rate, I would look to start protecting people. The last thing we need is victim due to lack of protects.

Ah... that makes sense. Wouldn't hurt to protect anyway - iirc biggest grammar nazi was Nerdytotoro
I don't think anyone protected so I protect [NerdyTotoro] based on the reason above.

I protect samlan16 because he/she was voted grammar nazi in 2016 (whereas Totoro was 2017). It's probably wrong but idk what else to do.

Do you guys think this has any significance? Also maybe Schrodingers_Cat is a worthwhile protect since he speaks German and sassy is clearly willing to target staff.
