I don't see any of the events as dumb since they are all related to what scientists do, but there are some that I could never see myself doing.

You have 1 sentence to convince the average person at your school to join your Science Olympiad team. What do you say?

If they're specifically at my current school, then I would say "don't". I wouldn't want the majority of people at my school to be in Science O, because they wouldn't even put any effort into it. I feel differently about it for 6-8th grade, but I don't think someone who doesn't try at all should be a 9th grader in Division B (9th graders in Division B need to be hard-working role models), and there's really no reason for them to even try making the Division C team if they didn't do it in Division B.

Well, I joined Science O in 6th grade after my science teacher mentioned it in class. I would say I've been interested in science since kindergarten or 1st grade (from what I can remember) and for the most part, I found regular science classes unchallenging, so I jumped at the opportunity of more science when it came.

As for my expectations, I didn't really have any. It wasn't like there was any super big hype about it. Although a couple of my older brothers participated in it, neither of them were really in to it or competed or anything.

Enrichment class in elementary school when I used to live in a different state. I don't think my CA school district has it now. It was so fun, we did brainteaser puzzles and riddles, talked about mythology and philosophy, and did random things like read Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven" when it was dark and rainy outside.

I've never really had any bad moments, like the type where I'm not proud that I did something wrong, or anything like that..but maybe..It was the time when I accidentally broke a car for Wheeled...

Tbh I wouldn't even want to leave Michigan. I certainly didn't enjoy having to go all the way down to Florida. It's too bad that I wasn't around for nats in 1998 when they were hosted at GVSU (I live a very short distance away from there).
