The jugs aren't labeled like measuring cups or anything, so it's not like you can just pour it to exactly 4 in the 5 gal jug. How do you pour exactly 4 gallons onto the bomb to defuse it?
This one has several steps in the answer. The very end result should be 4 gallons in the 5 gallon jug. I was told this riddle in 4th grade by my Enrichment teacher(Enrichment we learned philosophy, psychology, mythology, and we did brainteasers/riddles like this one) and it took me like three whole days to get it... I was in fourth grade don't judge me.
yeah i think this is a classic elementary school math problem because i remember getting it as well. You fill up the three gallon and pour it into the five gallon. Then you fill the three gallon again and pour it into the five gallon until the five gallon is full (this requires two gallons) leaving one remaining gallon in the three gallon. Now empty the five gallon. pour the one gallon of water in the three gallon bucket into the five gallon bucket. Fill the three gallon. pour into five gallon. You know have four gallons of water

### Re: Riddle Me This

That's correct! I ask someone of my friends today who are my age and they can't get it... So I guess it might be the not-so-classic classic elementary math problem?
EDIT: You can post the next riddle, Smithy0013.

How many were going to St. Ives?

`Add -1.`
`Add "n" to make none, but since you said "number," this answer is invalid.`

Well really adding almost any number would work depending on your definition of disappear. 1+2=3 and the 1 disappeared. I think the answer you want though is what can you add to 1 to get 0. In that case my answer is what UTF-8 U+6211 U+662F put.
