Definition of a Bell
Pretty much what the title asks- does an egg timer or some other (non-electric) alarm count as a bell? What is the definition of a bell- just something that rings loud and audibly and the judges can hear it?

Re: Definition of a Bell
The rules seem to list several conditions for the bell:
1. it must involve "ringing or striking"
2. it must be clearly audible
3. it must be possible to demonstrate its sound prior to operation
As always this is just my opinion, and the only place for official responses is the national website, sonic.org.
