The picture of the plane I posted was of Chuck Markos' design (still needs some adjustment on wing and plane to minimize weight). I was planning on getting a kit from Freedom Flight Models since many people reccommended it. On a side note, what kind of lubricant is preferred? Armor All? Also I was wondering whether a 1lb of of Tan SS rubber is enough? I wanted to get a torque meter, but for a begginer like me I think it would just be a waste of money.

Why do you ask? I know people say to follow Ray Harlan or Ziegler, but since Chuck Markos design was on the Science Olympiad page for wright stuff I just went ahead and did it.

Comment, while there may be bad designs out there, and features of some I loath, most any reasonably correct/conventional design will do well if you do your part. Until you can fly near nationals winning times on something you won't be able to tell much difference between designs. Pick one (kit or plan) that meets the rules, get it to weight and FLY!
