So Region 15 is cutting 8 events and only running 15 events in both B and C. Is this even allowed? Will it affect state qualification?

Hmmm, that sucks. I don't think there is any policy in Michigan prohibiting how many events can be excluded at a regional competition. And yeah, it seems like it could potentially affect which teams from the region qualify for states.

I know basically nothing about Michigan so how unusual is this? I recognize very few of these schools (and those I do, it's mostly from updating the invitationals page last year so...)

Well, before last year Allendale MS hadn't placed in the top 6 at regionals since 2006. Last year they placed 5th, being almost 100 points or so ahead of 10th (which is where they were in 2014). So things look good for them again this year.

Allendale High School usually sits within the top ten, but outside of the top 6 who qualify for states. Seeing how Grandville HS has been 6th at regionals for the past three years, Allendale HS is heading in the right direction to qualify for states.

Also Chandler Woods is still keeping it fresh. Last year they were only a couple of points behind Jenison, so...oh, I don't know...it's going down for real?

Has anyone competed in the Trial Event Source Code yet? I have been looking at the resources online the state website, but the sample test file won't open. Would anyone care to elaborate on the expectations or writing of questions for the event. And if you were given a test back from your regional, would you mind sharing it? Thanks.
