It is odd that people associated with SO can't figure out how to post. After all, isn't SO all about problem solving?
I think you are getting a little too crazy about this. Yes, SO is all about problem solving, and so is life in general. The problem is that problem solving requires time, a limited resource, especially when you consider the fact that these directors probably have families, jobs, and other priorities.

And not having scores from a regional competition posted publicly online is really not that odd. A number of state competitions don't have results online. Of the 15 regions in Michigan, I've only ever found results from 6 of them.

Agreed. If you think not having results from one regional is bad, the only ones we see on the GA forum are from those that Jaol, Unome, and I go to. We still have no idea who the top 3 at the most recent tournament were.
Remember, we are proud of every team that participated and you are all winners.

Not in the least. I am simply stating that it is odd that regions can't find ways to post the results. They can simply post them on the same web page they have been posting information about their upcoming tournament. Instead of saying upcoming they can say "Results". The spirit of SO was to in some ways mimic sport events. Can you imagine a meet where the running times were posted for the 3 fastest runners but nobody else. Imagine competing in a sectional without knowing half the top runner's times. Pretty hard to gauge strategy. That isn't the issue here. I find it curious that directors who can find ways to post all kinds of information about an upcoming competition is viewed by others as too incompetent to post results or too busy. You know what they say. The job ain't done until the paper work is complete.

I forgot to add this point. That there are worse states is not justification. It's about basic sportsmanship. If you have access to other region's results you share yours. Also, what I am asking isn't unreasonable. I don't see many people chiming in with agreement but I can see my request being one that becomes part of the official rules at some point. I see some people replying as if with indignation that I should point out something like this-as if it is malicious of me. I think it is simply basic. The results of each competition should be made public prior to any competition at the next level, state or national.

And how are you sure that regions who are not posting have access to the results we are posting? Not everyone knows about this forum.

If you would like to make requests of specific regions, may I suggest politely emailing their coordinators?

Complaining about it here is going to do absolutely nothing.

Not strictly true. We also get some fractured results from news stories, and some from rfscoach's contacts (aka FSA alumni).

I agree that regional tournaments should post results. However, as andrewwski said, the best way to get that happening is to talk to regional directors, so maybe we shouldn't spend so much time arguing over this.

Some of you assume that I have not made direct requests but that is incorrect. I have in the past before we competed in States. Sent emails on two occasions. Got nothing back. Now you can say maybe this and maybe that. May the director of the region does not read email. Maybe someone they hire posts all their information before the regional tournament but they don't pay that person after so more information can't be posted. Bottom line. At least on region steadfastly refuses to part with their results. This isn't an obsession but I find it strange. But that is about it. Thank you for posting for Midstate. Now I think we have most of them.

Teams that are going to States. I can't figure out how many teams qualify from some of the regionals whose results have been posted though. Would be great if some of you helped out!
