Re: Illinois 2016
You duplicated South invite on the B list by the way.
Also, your invites fill up quickly (then again, they're posted a lot earlier than most other states).

And yeah, being from Indiana, we tried signing up for some and they were already full

Re: Illinois 2016
Does anyone know if the competitions at Crystal Lake or Libertyville invitationals are good?

So many invitationals have proliferated while I've been B-only such that I don't know relative competitive levels circa now. CLC is a long-standing tournament, and that team, if nobody else, does tend to score highly at State annually. They're not at the competitive level you're at but somewhere beneath there. I'm not sure where the best C teams go, and Avogadro results have been cleared already. Both are tougher than Regionals, though, where the only meaningful competition you get is JB. If you really wanted to know, I could do a bit of digging.
On a related note, I'll probably be at Libertyville this season.

From going to some of these the past few years, I'd say the Hinsdale invite is the hardest one we go to. Not sure if that's based off of their methods of meddling or just a general tougher competition, though.

Re: Illinois 2016
I've only been to Palatine in Illinois, and from what I experienced from the last few years it isn't a bad tournament and does provide a challenge, especially for being so early in the year.Phys1cs wrote:Skink wrote:Stay homeMagikarpmaster629 wrote:Does anyone know if the competitions at Crystal Lake or Libertyville invitationals are good?

Re: Illinois 2016
Palatine is usually hard just because it's so early in the year. A lot of teams haven't gotten very far into building/studying, and aren't as prepared as they otherwise are later in the year. Same goes with the tests and all-- its the first time supervisors are learning the material for the tests they're writing or build judging. No one is familiar enough with the events to make anything insanely difficult

Re: Illinois 2016
Well, there's that and A)invitationals are intended to be easy and B)many of the event supervisors are not content-area experts.
On another note, event conflict blocks are now available.

Re: Illinois 2016
Only in Illinois Georgia invites (at least in B) are all more difficult than State.Skink wrote:A)invitationals are intended to be easy
