human: ~0.1 - 0.25
horse: ~0.6 - 0.75
dog: ~0.5 - 0.6
cat: ~0.7 - 0.9
All depends on location of the hair on the specimen

SINCE NO ONE HAS POSTED A QUESTION,

You test an unknown powder. It doesn't dissolve in water. What test would you perform next on this unknown powder in your quest to determine what it is and why?

If it is not soluble, then it could be CaSO4, CaCO3, Cornstarch, or MgSO3. These all have different pH (except for CaSO4 and cornstarch), so doing a pH test would almost certainly yield the answer.

Since no one has posted a question, I'll do the honors. Describe the process of mass spectrometry - be sure to include how the different ions are measured and how those measurements are read. Good luck!
