Explain how urban and rural development can cause habitat fragmentation/destruction, and how this can lead to the endangerment or extinction of some species.

When urban sprawl occurs, trees are cut down in order to make space for buildings and stuff. This leads to deforestation, which in turn leads to habitat fragmentation and destruction. Species are endangered/become extinct because of loss of habitat, due to deforestation/habitat destruction.
Not my best answer, but... : :|

2. Describe the tragedy of the commons.
1. a) They keep the ecosystem and habitat in balance b) They help control the number of organisms in a particular environment
2) In the tragedy of the commons, people act on their own accord despite what might be best for the group as a whole. For example, one person might use up everything in a food supply, leaving nothing for the rest of the group. Basically, they themselves were able to benefit, but it was detrimental to the rest of the group.
