the growth of human population. there are more people than resources for the people. Affluence is a problem. Pollution is a major factor. We pollute rivers, estuaries, and the ocean. Overfishing and deforestation.
What are abiotic factors?

Non-living factors in an environment such as rocks, soil, atmosphere, etc.

Another cause is poor irrigation, where water in canals and water distributed by irrigation cause a build up of salt in the soil, destroying vegetation.
