The (Rancho) La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angelos, California. Basically what would happen is animals such as Smilodon would unknowingly walk into the tar pits and get stuck and not be able to escape. As a result they would die and their bodies are preserved extremely well. The mode of preservation is actual remains since the skeletal material has not actually been replaced but some interpret the mode of preservation as chemical preservation.

The Ediacara Hills represent the Proterozoic eon. The deposits contain preserve abundant soft-bodied intertidal invertebrate marine life known as Ediacaran Fauna. The fossils include jellyfish, segmented worms, feather-like soft corals and early arthropod-life forms.

1) What is this animal's genus?
2) Ornithischian or Saurischian?
3) Who discovered this dinosaur, and during what paleontological feud/event was it discovered?
4) What other dinosaur genus was considered to be the same as the dinosaur pictured before recent reclassification?

Sorry about the wording on the last question, I hope it makes sense ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yep!

For 3, the other part of the answer was the Bone Wars, Great Dinosaur Rush, whatever you want to call it, and 4 was Brontosaurus :D
