How is the Brunton Pocket Transmit (Brunton Compass) different from normal compasses (other than the fact that Brunton compasses can be used to measure strike-dip)?

How is the Brunton Pocket Transmit (Brunton Compass) different from normal compasses (other than the fact that Brunton compasses can be used to measure strike-dip)?
The Brunton compass accounts for magnetic declination

Not what I was looking for but since I didn't specify CORRECT! I was looking for was that the Brunton Compass uses magnetic induction to damp needle oscillation rather than fluid.

Is conservative the same thing as transform because no new crust is generated/destroyed? If so, then San Andreas is probably the most traditional example.
