also random ohio teams (like Nordonia? and Chardon.) have like mid 30s

Whoa thats good. Any idea what system they use (encoders, brushless motors, etc.).

Seems pretty standard - brushless motor, arduino, and a really expensive looking encoder

I heard they brake with calipers though, not sure how that would work.

I'm guessing they use calipers for aiming(changing the curve of the vehicle to go straight) since that'd what we are using.

We just won at an invitational with a score of 23.3.

1.75sec, 5.8cm off. 2nd place was 28, 3rd was 35. Very competitive invitational. Obviously we were very happy with it. On to Regionals.

Took first at the Florida State Tournament with a 25.6 using a custom brushless setup with a rotary encoder. Time was about 1.75 seconds I believe.

We got first at TN state comp with score of 24.4. Time was 2.04 and distance was 4cm. We used a 55t crawler motor, rotary encoder, and 7.2v nimh battery pack.
