I haven't done the calculations myself, but if 21/60 is the maximum in the last ten years, that's 35%, which is lower than the 37%. If this rate holds up, then I would counter that it is indeed abnormally high.John Richardsim wrote:2015 to 2016: 19/60Magikarpmaster629 wrote: Yet another team that didn't qualify last year. I don't know numbers for previous years, but that sounds like a lot.
2008 to 2009: 21/60
Doesn't seem all that abnormal.

Yeah, IF it holds up. I'm not so sure it will. And 2%? That's one team of sixty.EastStroudsburg13 wrote:I haven't done the calculations myself, but if 21/60 is the maximum in the last ten years, that's 35%, which is lower than the 37%. Re: State Tournament Results
It's one team more than the previous maximum. Of course, more analysis would help add context to if there have been any trends.

Re: State Tournament Results
Definitely something I'll do over the summer. Perhaps I'll measure both teams not there the last two years and teams not there last year but there the previous year. Any other possibilities that might be useful?EastStroudsburg13 wrote:It's one team more than the previous maximum. Of course, more analysis would help add context to if there have been any trends.
Of the states left for Div C, I'd estimate getting 3-4 more new teams (hopefully my prediction is somewhat accurate). I notice middling to high chances in Michigan, Oregon, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Washington, North Carolina, and Texas.

Re: State Tournament Results
Div C champion is Fossil Ridge (confirmed via Twitter). Scores usually get posted pretty quickly on the state website; how much they won by will be interesting to see.Balsa Man wrote:Don't know on C; B was Preston MSMagikarpmaster629 wrote:Anyone have Colorado B and C?
The shape of Colorado looks rather strange on the trophy.
Re: State Tournament Results
Yes Wydown started in 2014, and they won by one point:Magikarpmaster629 wrote:I was updating Wright State University 2017 Wiki, I put down Menomonie, should I change this? Also on topic, we're still missing scores from Arizona, Iowa B, New Hampshire, Maine, Louisiana, Oregon, Wyoming C, and Connecticut C; anyone have these?Unome wrote:It seems to have changed; Medford is now in first place with 98 (with Madison West's score increased by a point).John Richardsim wrote:Wisconsin C:
1. Menomonie High School (110)
2. Medford High School (113)
3. Madison West (151)
Full scores
Either way, clearly the end of the Menomonie/Madison West era (considering the usual scores are sub-70).Yay, someone actually pays attention to Missouri! Yeah, we were all shocked when we heard Pembroke got third in B; Wydown started in 2014 (I think) so they've come a long way. Honestly I don't know about John Burroughs, they ended up getting 6th this year (with a score of ~250 if I guess correctly) after getting 3rd many times in previous years; they even improved their regionals score over last year's. Rock Bridge got 120 so it was pretty close in C too.Unome wrote:Congrats on the win, I can now seriously consider ranking you in the top ten (and of course congrats to Wydown on qualifying, there seems to be a lot of turnover this year so far).Magikarpmaster629 wrote:Missouri B

Missouri C
1. Ladue High School (60) - Qualifies for the 2017 National Tournament
2. Pembroke Hill School (106) - Qualifies for the 2017 National Tournament
3. Rock Bridge High School
Big shakeups in both divisions. Full results will come in about a week.
Also whatever happened to John Burroughs?
Ladue (65)
Wydown(103)
Pembroke (104)
