Rustin Results
Hello all!
I am anxious to hear of the results for the Rustin Invitational that happened today, on Sunday 12/18/16. I don't know if this is the right place to post this (or if I'm allowed to post this, and if this is against the rules I apologize and you are welcome to delete this post), but since this is the General Chat it might just work. If anybody has received the results for the competition, or has them (or even who placed in what), it would be really nice if you could post it (if it adheres to the www.scioly.org rules, of course).
Thank you, ~Raven

Re: Rustin Results
Moved this thread to Invitationals, Regionals, and States (kind of fits better in here).
And posting results from a tournament doesn't violate the site rules. Otherwise Unome and I would be the greatest outlaws this site has ever seen.

Re: Rustin Results
First impressions (mainly from a PA analysis point of view)
1. Springhouse is still the team to beat, if this was in question at all.
2. Community is still the team to beat in NJ, also if this was in question at all.
3. Garnet Valley did really well, even with a few teams missing. They could be in line for their first top 10 finish at states if they can build off of this.
4. Another team with a promising result is J.R. Fugett, who could be in line for a return to states based on these results.
5. Bala Cynwyd didn't do super hot. I expected a bit of regression after last year due to graduation but this is quite a bit. However, last year they really outperformed their Rustin placing at regionals and states, and I definitely think they'll improve from here significantly, so I'd still expect them to place 1st or 2nd at regionals.
6. Welsh Valley placed relatively low; they may be at risk for missing out on the top 3 at SE regionals for the first time since at least 2004. Again, I expect them to improve a lot as well, but with Garnet Valley's strong placing, there's work to be done.
7. There's a bit of a cutoff after 24th place. I think this corresponds to about the states qualification threshold. Based on this, Hershey, Stetson, Devon Prep, Abington Heights, Whitehall Coplay, and Orefield are approximately on track to qualify (assuming the teams continue working and improving from here), but probably aren't locks. Teams under this threshold, like Bedford, Wyoming Seminary, T/E, Kutztown, and Haverford, probably have a bit of work to do from here. However, it's still very early, and there's a lot of time left for teams to improve, so none of this is set in stone by any means.
SEPA Regional is definitely going to be interesting this year!

Re: Rustin Results
Both Springhouse teams beat both Strath Haven teams, and both Strath Haven teams beat both Bala Cynwyd teams.
With Springhouse still going strong, does this mean PA B's cyclical champion rotation has ended? probably not

Re: Rustin Results
Don't worry, this is Springhouse's third year in the cycle. The cycle's only in danger next year.

True, but we're still due for a new 11th place team, and no one seems to be stepping up so farEastStroudsburg13 wrote:Don't worry, this is Springhouse's third year in the cycle. The cycle's only in danger next year.

Re: Rustin Results
The full results are available here. I'm quite surprised about Bala's results although I'm sure they'll be able to improve in time for states.
