I managed to go 4 for 4 at national competitions -- that is, I got a medal every year I went. No more, no less, but I'll take what I can get.

Of course, 3 of those 4 medals were WIDI... so I'm not so sure my medals are worth as much as some other people. But hey, I'm proud of it. I'm even more impressed by the people who medal in building events though. That's something I've always wished I could do.

7th grade (Ohio State): 5th in WIDI, 34 Feathered Frenzy
8th grade (Juniata): 2nd in Road Scholar, 9th Wheeled Vehicle, 14th WIDI
11th grade (Wichita State): 5th in WIDI, 10th Astronomy, 17th Remote Sensing, 18th Scrambler
12th grade (the GW): 3rd in WIDI, 10th Remote Sensing, 14th Astronomy, 23rd Electric Vehicle

Last year in Kansas I won WrightStuff and was really disappointed to get 8th in robots
This year I won Robots by quite a bit but totally bombed wright stuff which really sucked because i was expecting at least top 3 and i got 7th in boom by just a little bit. All in all it was not that good of a nationals for me. (besides the whole robot thing)

I've gone two years..

2007: Entomology (5), Ecology (4)
2008: Sounds (1)

Somewhat disappointing this year because I screwed up portions of BOTH the ecology and herpetology test and realized that I had done so right after (well at the last station in herpetology but w/o enough time to fix it) I had turned each in. Oh well, hopefully I can somehow get to nats next year and do better?

eak, be glad that you medaled in WIDI. Personally, I think that that is a really difficult event with many technicalities. Getting 3 medals in that is a real acheivement.

i've gone 2 years

freshman year got 6th in genes which was amazing cause we got 5th at states in it and the team that got 1st at states got 8th at nats so it showed how hard we worked on it between states and nats

sophomore year i got 2nd in sounds and 5th in remote, very happy,

in kansas my team got 8th and in dc my team got 5th

hope to do better next year :)
