i disagreed completely with what he said, but it did not offended me at all. Plus i was in the bathroom durring that part.

What was that speech even about? I don't remember, I was so out of it lol. But then at the swap meet I regained all my energy :lol:

I couldn't stand any longer in 2007 Nationals. :\ The speaker was boring. No offense.

Yeah, Dr. Carson's speech was very interesting, which was a definite improvement... but his emphasis on God and his insinuation that "chivalry" only applies to males being courteous to females and not vice versa or just general courtesy to everyone kind of bothered me. I have a bit of a reputation on my team as being an extreme feminist, but I would like to point out that I have no problem with a guy holding a door for me- as long as he would extend the same courtesy to another guy.

Overall, it was great, though. It was nice to have someone who was used to public speaking and not just a researcher who'd been thrown on stage and told to dumb down their standard presentation to a middle school/high school level.
