Welcome to the 2018 Season!

Post by bernard »

We're excited to ring in the new season with our annual rollover as well as some additional changes.

Slight reorganization of forums. After watching posts over the past season, we've given invitationals their own forum. Use the Invitationals forum for invitational discussion or tournament advertising, and use the Regionals and States forum for discussing matters related to your state.

Return of roundtables. Our alumni userbase is growing and they're excited to give back. Starting this month we'll be hosting roundtables (your chance to ask Science Olympiad medalists and grads any questions) on IRC chat. Stay tuned for topics and dates!

Site rules. With Science Olympiad, Inc. rules taking it to the web, we've updated our site rules and put them all in one location. Our site's rules are now located at scioly.org/rules.

Staffing changes. We're happy to announce several promotions. Congratulations to Schrodingerscat on his promotion from global moderator to administrator, Unome on his promotion from wikimod to global moderator, and Person on his promotion to wikimod. They have consistently gone above and beyond both in the foreground and behind-the-scenes.

Medals! Much progress was made during our summer wiki drive, and countless medals were awarded. We've got many more up for grabs, so keep those wiki contributions going! This season, several events will return and many others will make their debut. Your contributions to the wiki pages of these events are helpful to the entire community. Learn more about how you can contribute here.

Expect more site improvements throughout the season, so any feedback you provide (as a post in the Feedback forum or through private message) will be helpful to all of us! Happy competing to you and your team!
