Rubber Band Optimization
Rubber Band Optimization
Hey guys,
What's the best ratio for rubber band size to body length (we are planning use a .085", .094", .125" on a 13.8" body)? Also, for competition purposes, is it better to use a brand new rubber band or a slightly used one?
I appreciate your responses.

Re: Rubber Band Optimization
As already stated, until your rubber band gets to be multiples longer or shorter than the hook to hook length, no effect.
As to brand new, top competition flyers always use broken in motors as they've found they get better times. Typically they stretch (some wind) the motor to some multiple of its relaxed length and hold it for a period of time. Search the free flight sites for motor breakin for some recipes.
