Same Device to Same Device Transfer

Post by OrangePanda65 »

Does a same device to same device transfer count for points? ex. (Pulley -> Pulley)

In the rules, it doesn't say that same device -> same device transfers don't count, however in an invitational the MP proctors weren't counting same device transfers, so I just want some clarification.

In the rules part 4c, it says: "Scorable transfers are of one Simple Machine Type to a different Simple Machine Type." So like your example, a pulley to a pulley does not count for points.

another thing you can do is create a list of every scoreable transfer and then cross out the ones that are simple machine to same simple machine.

That would not count as a scorable transfer because a 2nd class lever is the same simple machine as a 3rd class lever.
