I would expect the mirror on the barrier to be facing away from the laser.Froggie wrote:The mirror can face any way.Lazerchix wrote:in division B Lasershoot, can the mirror on the barrier be on the back side of the barrier?

Re: Optics B/C
At the competitions I've been to, that hasn't necessarily been the case. The barrier mirror has been facing the laser more often in my experience.UTF-8 U+6211 U+662F wrote:I would expect the mirror on the barrier to be facing away from the laser.Froggie wrote:The mirror can face any way.Lazerchix wrote:in division B Lasershoot, can the mirror on the barrier be on the back side of the barrier?

It could technically be facing the side walls.....Rofenil wrote:At the competitions I've been to, that hasn't necessarily been the case. Re: Optics B/C
With my box set up, when i adjust my mirrors, the laser dot shines on 27 but faintly shines on 12. What would they count?

Re: Optics B/C
Sounds like you split the beam. It will depend on the event supervisor but they tend to only count the brighter of the two dots.ScientistInTraining wrote:With my box set up, when i adjust my mirrors, the laser dot shines on 27 but faintly shines on 12. What would they count?
Re: Optics B/C
Rule 4.m says: "Only the intended, normally reflected, path of the laser will be counted (e.g. secondary beams due to beam splitting or halos must be ignored)"ScientistInTraining wrote:With my box set up, when i adjust my mirrors, the laser dot shines on 27 but faintly shines on 12. Re: Optics B/C
Do you guys think hitting five mirrors and the barrier is a good score even without the accuracy part?
