Just curious, what were prediction accuracies of the top teams?

Also, the water was 70c 70ml 35min.

Our team was 3.5 degrees off. We initially predicted 45 C and it ended up being 48.5 C.

When does the timer usually start? Is it as soon as the water is poured into the beaker? Or after the beaker+water has been placed into the device? Or after you have determined the initial water temperature with your own thermometer after beaker+water has been placed into the device?

Is it up to individual supervisor? or have you seen consistencies between different tournaments ?

Thermo is one of the hardest to run events. I believe it is as soon as the water is placed into the device, but every supervisor I have competed under has done it differently in at least one way.

Most times the differences won't matter enough to throw you off, but at some competitions *cough cough cough* Texas State Thermo- the device and testing portions- can be run badly enough to knock your team out of the running.

Anyone know the room temperature at nats? Because these final temperatures seem awfully low... (was the room temperature like 15 C or something) :?:
