I'll give you the gist.
Microbial Competition: microbes trying to kill each other with antimicrobials that they produce
Microbial Communication: Quorum sensing, like whythelongface said
Microbiome: Microbes living in certain areas of the human body
Biofilm: A clump of microbes which forms a community

I was wondering was anything about Microbes and Industry, Food, or Ecology assessed at last year's national tournament? I feel like its important, but a lot at the same time

Yes, there was quite a lot on the nationals test, from what I remember.
