Disease Detectives B/C

Post by Tailsfan101 »

Welcome to the Disease Detectives B/C Question Marathon!

List the five biggest outbreaks and pandemics in history.
"Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you." Matthew 5:11-12

I have no regrets.

1. Microorganisms have to be found in all organisms that have the disease but not in the ones that don't.
2. Microorganism has to be separate from organisms with the disease.
3. Microorganism must cause a disease.
4. Uhh... Said microorganism must be the same as another microorganism (?)

Kochs postulates:
Pathogen is present in every case of the disease, can be isolated from host and cultured, can be used to infect animals in the lab, and then be isolated from that animal again, right?

The point of Question Marathons is for people to pose questions and others to answer them. For example:
Person 1 wrote:What are the three main modes of transmission?
Person 2 wrote:Airborne, Vectorborne, and Vehicleborne.
Person 1 wrote:Correct! You may now pose a question.

Correct! Your turn. (Susan, your answer is correct too, but since Froggie answered first, I'll let him ask the next question)
