University of Michigan SciOly Invitational!!!

I am very excited to announce that the University of Michigan Science Olympiad Club will be hosting a Science Olympiad invitational this season! This will be the first university-hosted invitational in Michigan, and it will be held on February 17, 2018 (Division C only) at the University of Michigan's Ann Arbor campus. Faculty, student alumni, and National event supervisors will be running all of the events, so coaches do not need to bring materials to run an event.

We have submitted the last of our paperwork to SOINC, and we will be opening registration very shortly after receiving final confirmation from them. As soon as I have an exact date for registration, I will make a post below; we expect registration to be available next week. Registration fees are projected to be $100 per team, and will under no circumstance be greater than that (we may be able to reduce the fees slightly). Schools may register as many teams as they would like. However, only the first two teams a school registers will receive guaranteed spots. The additional teams will be placed on the waitlist. We will be capping the invitational at around 40-45 teams, and will be following the Nationals schedule as closely as possible.

Also of note, on the miscioly.org site, we are listed as both a division B and C invitational; this is incorrect, as we are only hosting a division C invitational.

Just pointing this out, but despite the website's claim, Frankenmuth has been larger for at least the last three years (and depending on whether you count Allendale as a combined tournament, it may be the largest in Michigan at 52 teams - I don't know how large West Ottawa is in Div B so I can't say for sure). Anyway, nice to hear that Michigan is finally jumping on the bandwagon
